A Radio Update from West Africa
We are strongly encouraged by a new report originating from Monrovia, Liberia. It seems that not only the nation of Liberia is benefiting from IPICM’s radio broadcasts, but so are surrounding nations. We are particularly encouraged by the fact that people living in the “bush” are hearing the good news of Jesus Christ–many for the first time. Opoku Kwaku sent us the following email:

Our goal is to saturate as much of the continent of Africa as possible in the months and years to come. Praise be to our God Almighty!
A Radio Station’s Update from Zambia
We want to post a second letter we received from KOKOLIKO Radio, located in Chingola, Zambia. The report was unsolicited and we have every reason to presume similar claims can be made by other stations. Here is the report:

The first paragraph says it all–the IPICM radio broadcast “is changing lives.” It is worth noting that no one encouraged the respondents to call the station. They did that on their own. We are just so grateful the station forwarded their information to our partner, Pastor Stephen Kaindu.
Thank you KOKOLIKO so very much for your encouragement and kind report.
A Testimony of God’s “Radio Fruit”
We recently received a report from one of our Zambian radio stations that broadcasts “Time in the Word” over weekends. Our goal is to train our listeners in the many facets of the Christian life as they grow in the mature things of faith. While teaching is one of our primary goals, God is doing much more than what we had planned for.
Following is a report from KOKOLIKO Radio in Chingola, Zambia. This account is nothing less than thrilling:

In summary, 231 unbelievers gave their lives to Christ Jesus in the first 4 months of 2023. Did you see that not only is this a record of people calling in to the station, but that “some come physically (to the station) for further encouragement”? Keep in mind, KOKOLIKO is a secular radio station! This report is exactly what we are hoping for as we seek to reach lost souls and train the children of God.
Just imagine the effect that our radio program is having in this community and then project similar results for the months and years to come. Then imagine the fruit that is growing in the 11 other radio and television markets stretching across the continent of Africa. Wow! What a great God we serve!
Five New Churches Planted in Recent Months
As of May 2023, IPICM has successfully planted 5 new churches in Sierra Leone. Four churches resulted from holding community-wide crusades in the months of January through April. The sixth church came together in the latter half of 2022 in a community where there was neither a local church, nor had a crusade been conducted.
The 6 communities include Kabumbah (70 adult disciples); Gbanka Potoh (91 adult disciples); Madina (185 adult disciples); Mayefeh (approximately 200 adult disciples); and Kawansor–the community where people were listening to the IPICM radio broadcast and asked if we would start a church there (105 adult disciples). We did! The current number of disciples is approximately 651 disciples of Jesus Christ.
With so many new believers, we are faced with multiple challenges, but good things are happening. IPICM is providing bibles to those who can read but we need more. We are also creating discipleship training audio and video materials. We have pastors set in some places, but in some locations, our team regularly visits until a pastor can be set in place. These young churches are meeting in a variety of locations, but some have already built their own structures using “local materials.” Should they choose to continue to fellowship and learn under the covering of IPICM, such are sure to be among the first churches to become part of the IPICM Association of Churches. Our association is planned to be operational sometime in 2024. Glory to God!
“This Crusade is the First Ever in the History of the Town”
God continues to take his church in places where its never been before. In April, the IPICM team continued advancing the kingdom of God in never-before reached communities of Sierre Leone. Pastor Musa authored the following report:
“The Crusade started on Sunday 23rd and ended on the 25th of April. The Crusade attracted many unbelievers who turned to Christ and received him as their personal saviour. According to the elders, this Crusade was the first crusade ever in the history of the town of Mayefeh. The leaders were very much amazed and glad about it, because there are churches around the other towns and villages but in Mayefeh Town, there was no church . . . . The town chief, Chief Pa Adikalie Turay, donated the land to us to build the church. The elders, youth, and all the stakeholders take this project as the first opportunity to have a church where once there was only a mosque.”
Over the course of 3 nights, 1,807 people attended the open air meetings. By the end of the third night, 254 professed to give their lives to Jesus Christ. At the end of the campaign, there was a healing session in which 15 people were immediately healed of their afflictions.
Crusades & Broadcasts are Birthing New Churches across Sierra Leone
Earlier this year, one of our partners (Musa) reported that as a result of IPICM’s “Time in the Word” broadcast, that a group of villagers in Kawonsor, Sierra Leone, asked if they could start a church (which we have reported on below). Their congregation is now numbering about 60 individuals. More recently, a church has been planted in the location of the Kabumba crusade (see below). Our partners expect to lay the foundation for a church at Tonko Limba, where a crusade took place in mid-March.
God often does things far ahead of our expectations–sometimes even in reverse order. Musa reported that recently he visited Mayefe Town, and met with a group of city leaders regarding the upcoming crusade to be held there April 12–14. Not only did the community leaders look on the crusade with great favor, but the leader even donated land for a church to be built by those who come to Christ! This is especially good news since the community of 5,000 people currently has no church! The church will officially launch Sunday, April 15th.

Crusades & Broadcasts Requested for the Republic of Guinea
According to our senior partner in Sierra Leone, Emmanuel Akintola, there are many listeners to IPICM’s radio broadcast, “Time in the Word” in the West African nation of the Republic of Guinea. This is what he said in a recent report:
“It gives me great pleasure to report that IPICM Sierra Leone has connected with a pastor from the Republic of Guinea. The pastor expressed interest in our IPICM broadcast and informed us that many people in Guinea speak both English and French. He requested that we conduct a crusade in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, and offered to act as an interpreter to translate from English to French. He also promised to connect us with a radio station in Guinea that can broadcast our IPICM weekly radio program. The pastor from Guinea requested our past radio broadcasts, which I have downloaded and provided to him. All of this was made possible by the grace of God.”
We will do our best to fulfill the Guinean pastor’s request.
IPICM Announces a Plan to Start an Association of Churches in 2024
IPICM leadership has announced its plan to create an international association of churches under which young churches can develop and grow to their full potential. There has been a need in many areas for such a tool as this and now it is in the early stages of coming together.
For now, only young churches that sprout up as a result of a church plant resulting from one of our crusades, or as a result of local airings of our radio-television “Time in the Word” broadcasts, will be eligible for an associate membership. But this is for a very good reason. We recognize that it will take time to get things right so that IPICM can function properly–and wisely–as a responsible covering. If becoming a member is of interest to you, then we encourage you to be patient and regularly return to this website to view our progress reports. If all goes well, it is very possible that we can join together in a common effort to plant and grow God’s kingdom harvest.

Sierra Leone 1st Quarter Report
Although IPICM has served much of Africa over the years, our most recent efforts have been in the country of Sierra Leone. If you would like to view our partners’ 1st quarter report, click on this link. In their own words, our local partners express their joy over the good work that is taking place in their West Africa nation. The following events (below) are mentioned in the report.
Sharing the Gospel in Madina, Sierra Leone

From March 16-18, IPICM worked directly with Musa, Emmanuel, and Joseph (top right photo), in the West African town of Toko Limba, Sierra Leone. Our three-night crusade was wonderful, with a large number of people declaring their desire for Jesus Christ. On the last night, after many pledged to follow Jesus, our team did what our Savior instructed his disciples to do. We interceded for those present who were physically afflicted. Standing in the front was Mr. Kainday, a man who had been suffering great pain and was “paralyzed for 6 years,” according to his testimony. To see the manifestation of his rapid healing, click the link to see the video for yourself.
A “Bush” Crusade in Gbanka Potho, Sierra Leone
Gbanka Potho is not exactly a well-known hub of urban affairs. Indeed, it is little more than a crossroads of country living. But this is exactly the kind of place IPICM seeks. While many ministries seek great crowds in large towns, we seek the out-of-way souls that are often overlooked. How Jesus searches so diligently for the one sheep lost in the bush! And that is why we visited the people of Gbank Potho–to plant a church where there was none.

Our partners tell us there was a good turnout for our two-night meeting in February. We are told 20 souls received the gospel and many others received healing. So, with our second crusade behind us, we are pleased to announce that we left a number of growing disciples in the hands of our partners to insure they will grow wonderfully in their new-found faith. Our IPICM team will regularly interact with these new converts and hopefully soon, break ground for a new church.
Kabumba Town–IPICM’s First Crusade in Sierra Leone
The world if full of “firsts.” Kabumba Town was IPICM’s first crusade in the West African nation of Sierra Leone. But there was one thing evident to the ministry team; many in the community were starving for the promises that awaited them in the Good News of Jesus Christ.
It is not known how many came to Christ at our meets, but three weeks later, we were told there were 70 disciples. As a result, IPICM provided bibles to those who were actively growing in the faith.

IPICM’s Radio Program Results in a Church Plant
In recent months, a new church was birthed in Kawonsor, Sierra Leone. By March, a new temporary construction was completed and the young church was named “IPICM Church.” It is not unusual for a church to spring up, but how this one came about is quite interesting. A few months ago, Musa, one of our three partners in Sierra Leone, related the story of how a group of people in a nearby village had been listening to IPICM’s broadcast, “Time in the Word.” As a result, they called the radio station and spoke with Musa who worked there. They related how they had been listening to the broadcast and had a request: “Can we build a church in here in Kawonsor”? Musa replied “yes,” and with that, the church in Kawonsor was born. It now has a membership of nearly 60 people. Praise God!

Training the Masai People of Tanzania to Evangelize
It is now the rainy season in Tanzania. But before the rain commenced, there was a wonderful event that took place with one of the two Masai churches IPICM is helping in their efforts to introduce Jesus to their culture. With the help and local leadership of Sheltel Mujwica, our Tanzanian partner, we offered a plan to bring a thinly populated area together for a meal and an introduction to the fledgling church. The results were very encouraging. IPICM developed the format that began with a meal and was followed with a promising discussion focused on how the church hopes to meet the needs of the community. But because the rainy season makes travel highly difficult, and because there is neither internet nor phone service in bush, we will have to wait for a later time to receive an updated report.

Can You Help?
This is Michael–a young and blind Christian man. Our partners (Pastors Emmanuel and Joseph) in Sierra Leone are working with his school for the blind. They are purchasing solar charged radios so the blind can tune in to the “Time in the Word” teaching broadcasts. If you would like to assist with this expense, please give a donation. These pastors are taking on this project out of their own meager incomes. None should miss out on the Word just because they cannot read the bible for themselves. Please consider supporting this need and thank you for anything you can give.
